What can I put on a wooden curtain rod to help move my rings wooden curtain back and noon easily? I just bought curtains quite expensive. They hang well and they are weighing Nice. However, the curtain rod is made of wood and are also the curtain rings, which means they do not slide so well when I open and close.
I'm sure I need to rub or spray something on top of the pole, but I do not want to put anything on it oily or anything that might damage the fabric. Maybe the wax or something else? Ideas?
Thank you in advance.
WD40 works well if you can keep it out of the matter!
try to paint with a high gloss paint, or if it is a natural finish, it Lacker, then seal. He has worked on related projects that I did. Looks like they are unfinished poles that would probably cause a lot of friction between the rings and the rod. WD40 will penetrate the wood if its unfinished, and could not eat with the possible arrival if they are finite.
Silicani furniture polish is the best answer, spray and polish as you would your furniture, but the spirit of the fabric, Mr. Sheen best brands or pledge that I found that the spray on nozzels Pleadge be usless !
Furniture polish.
furniture wax or candles
Simply rub the top of the stem, where the rings contact with paraffin or candle. He lubricated and not hurt the finish on the stem, or stain your curtains. You can find paraffin in the canning section of freezing / groceries.
Beeswax or Candlewax would work, and not cause any damage to your curtains. WD40 will just enter the woods and there are good chances that you get your curtains!
silicone lubricant is your best bet for stopping its excellent adhesion to wood production of a good arco
Hi WW.
As has already been said silicone grease to rub on the pole.
I had the same problem and he has toured and no mess.
Get your local plumbing merchant.
Get a small tub of silicone grease.
It only costs a few shillings and you will find loads of use for it.
