Wine Temperature

Posted on June 11, 2010.
Wine TemperatureHow hot is the correct setting for my new wine cooler?

I bought a dual temperature wine cooler. Can anyone tell me the proper temperature for the fixed. I am currently only buying white wines. I take the other compartment of beer. What would be the correct storage / cooling temperature of the beer.

60-70 degrees

a drink for Rex

Depends on how you like your beer. Here in Canada we generally like it a few degrees above freezing. Australia is similar. European countries such as cellar temperature "sometimes referred to room temperature, which is a misnomer. Their room temperature is much lower than ours. We have central heating and tend to keep the rooms around 72 F or 20 ° C. Much of Europe, where the phrase was invented, had no central heating and their houses were much colder than ours. So do not drink wine 72 degrees only because of the expression temperature. And Europeans encourage you to drink beer that is only slightly chilled. They say it shows the whole body and taste beer, and paralyzing the deprived. Personally, I like to chill with beer instead of drinking something that reminds me of warm p * ss.

It depends on the type of beer you drink, and how cold you want. Fuller beers body generally taste better when not served ice cold. (Probably the best beer I ever had a variety of beers we enjoyed at the German car trunk spring "temperatures - really. They are very tasty, but taste better at 50 degrees or more. Light Beer tastes better when really cold - around 40 degrees (F).

However, on this wine cooler - in my experience, hiding wine regularly appear to increase over time, so you can keep an extra space for more wine, beer and hiding in the refrigerator ordinary or refrigerator parts in the basement. The beer does not need the humidity control and precise control of temperature that the wine is, too, can be stored in a unit much cheaper.

I run a wine shop and we recommend that the wine is stored as close to 55 degrees as possible. This is often called "cellar temperature. The beer can certainly be treated the same way. Temperature is a little different. Most beers and white wines should be served at about 50 degrees, red wine around 60 degrees. If your goodies are served cold fermented aromatic properties that stops and you do not get the taste of them too and that is the fun part.
Cheers
