What are the options for window coverings on my sliding glass doors? There must be something more attractive and more beautiful than long vertical blinds. those who are so cheezy and noisy. Does anyone know other options?
Go to jcpenney.com and in the type of search bar in the vertical blinds ............ awsome
I do not know if this is right for you, but I'll throw it anyway. I was at a home show and I recently saw a window tint supplier sales. With the tint they had decorative "stick" to cover the windows. They were shaped like decorative glass and others. Some of them did not look too bad. One common use for them is probably to cover the bathroom windows. I do not know if they would look good on a sliding glass door or not. I guess it depends on what kind of look you are trying to achieve.
I was looking for the same thing. I'm going either with curtains that have a high eye so it is easier to slide open and closed every day or two Roman shades. I like the idea of roman shades b / c children can not touch them when they are pulled up or in the morning when the sun shines really bright in our door I can get them halfway if I am still a little light.
I like the decorative window film / cling mentioned, but what is wrong with curtains? I do not either and I used vertical tab curtains over once for my sliding glass door. I kept the curtains drawn to one side during the day and then closed the night. If you do not want them to stand out, try to stay with the same color as the wall.
Buy one-way draw rod section. http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?De ... This has a cord that attaches to one side of the wall. You pull the cord, and he draws the curtains on one side. You need to configure it so that the curtains pull the side you do not exit. (If you always open your right side, set up the rod so that the curtains drawn on the left.)
Pinch-pleated draperies Use windows with this rod. Measure the height of your doors. If it is something other than 84 "or 95", then you will probably have to custom made curtains, hang the curtain rod above the height of the doors (which may seem strange), or the edge of the curtains. The curtains should say "pleat" on the packaging.
If you need to measure curtains, JCPenney has them, but it can be very expensive. I would get a first estimate. It will probably be cheaper to buy the 95 "curtains, and have identified, even if you need to hire a seamstress to do so.
Try using a window ledge and curtains have just gather on one side:

Another idea would be to make one of those things adhesives windows?
