Vinyl Mini Blinds

My room overlooks the East and the sun is blinding in the morning and the room is bad when I tried to curtains. I have white vinyl blinds and the light is shining soo would blinds metal / white aluminum make a difference? I do not want to call a company blind as they will not give information without getting # name etc. then bother me constantly use their service. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Buy the metal, but make sure they state "room darkening" on the package. We have always had and they live at their request. We are temporarily in an apartment until our new house is finished and they are using vinyl. They do not close properly, sag, and does not block the light. Thus happen a little more and a little sleep.
