How toilet flange spacers work? I put in new tiles in the bathroom, which raises the floor of three quarters of an inch or two. I need to raise the level of the original closet flange is using a ring of more wax or put in a spacer flange. I bought a brace at Home Depot, but I'm not sure how it works. The guy told me just to stack the Depot existing flange, but I do not think it waterproof. Am I supposed to use a certain type of wax seal between the spacer and the flange of old? Any help would be appreciated.
An old plumber once told me, "every time you repair toilets, you can not go wrong using a joint further." Now he speaks only of ordinary wax seals, not those rubber strap attached. Take it for what it's worth, you have paid the same amount as I did for this review. He never did me wrong though.
Edit: To the guy below me, when a plumber roughs in a bathroom, it always leaves the bracket high enough to offset the finished floor by both the blockage in the drain and temporary spacers between flange and basement. If your plumber does not do that, it must be replaced.
I do not know
You need the spacer and wax ring. There are different thicknesses of cycles of use in an application of tiles, you may even need two. The spacer can go well above the existing flange if the flange is not existing rusty, otherwise I saw the spacers can also be screwed to the subfloor. Obviously does not work if it is on a slab.
when I put the tile, the plumber has already stuck to the bottom flange. I cut the tile to fit around the flange. If the flange is below the tile. I do not think it's important.
Take the spacer discard. Get a wax ring with a horn. It is the wax ring with plastic ring in it. Put on the flange of the current first, then just put a regular wax ring on top of him. Then set your bowl. You'll probably
need to get more bolts.
Yes, they work. I put a lot of tiles and never had to use one. The top of your bracket must be the same or a hair above your finished floor. If this is the case, you do not need. If your toilet sets "too easy" bracket is too low. Anchor the riser in a way, by screwing or double-Nutting. (Head of the screw under the old flange, washer and nut on top of the riser, wax ring, toilet, washer and nut on top of the toilet.) So too use a thick wax ring with a sleeve. Enjoy.
