Can I grow a fern indoors under a sun lamp? Can I increase my heart fern under a sun lamp or do I need to be near a window?
Wow, the whole range of answers here ....
My experience is that the ferns tend to thrive indoors with nothing more than ambient light. In fact, those I placed near the windows do not fare so well. I found that daily misting helps. I also use a food called Oxygen Plus once a month. Otherwise, I water twice a week. If you are a smoker, do not bother trying to grow a fern inside ... they really do not like cigarette smoke. Oh, and cats seem to enjoy chewing on ferns.
I'm sure a sunlamp would result in a fern yellow and fade ...
But these are just my own personal experiences ... Here are some links with ferns growing tips ... see what they say:

Ferns are very picky and prefer natural light.
