Is my refrigerator dangerous? I have a Sanyo mini-fridge in my dorm room, I had for several years and moved back home during the summers. I've just returned to school, and it seems to work fine, but when it turns its cooling mechanism there is a relatively strong noise that sounds like a wheezing noise from the ocean. I can not say if it is broken because I did not smell any gas or chemicals, and has so far worked well, but I do not remember that happening sound before. Am I vulnerable to carbon monoxide poisoning or other dangerous thing? And do you think of the noise means something is not working properly?
Is your refrigerator running on gas? Unless I do not think you have to worry about anything regarding carbon monoxide poisoning. However, you may have a problem with the power and that I checked.
In fact, it seems that the compressor is out and there's really nothing you can do about it. When it breaks it will not be worth fixing because the cost would be prohibitive.
