Roll Up Shutters

The name starts with an R. You control them with a switch on the wall and they go up and down, they are like window shades, but they are outside of the house and when they are closed, they completely fail in the bedroom. No flaps, they are not called. They have a name. You do not really see, on average, American homes. Please help.
