Patio Door Curtains

is a sliding glass door back patio. they (the women in the family) already chosen one, but it seems to be very long curtain of the middle section and you can pass hands. I do not like him as he pulls a little too far from the glass and let the cold air can enter through the sides. It is also our family room look like it has a giant window. Does anyone have good recommendation for good, elegant type curtains for a patio in back? The curtains get beat as the door. I want to buy the type of window shades drawing hanging vertical rather than horizontal.
