Making Cafe Curtains

Posted on May 23, 2010.
Making Cafe CurtainsWhen the curtains do, how should they be set against the window?

I'm making cafed curtains and wondered if twice as wide as the window (obviously before they are placed on the curtain rod) or less / more. What about tab top curtains? Do they differ in recommended widths?
Thank you.

depends on the look you are trying to reach and purpose of curtain (decoration or privacy) also depends on the fabric. If you want it to be pleasant and usually 2 1 / 2 times the width of the window, but 2 times more than sufficient in general. I think tab top curtains are very similar in the recommendations. They Flyer fabric stores like Joann give you recommendations, you can probably Google "width curtain" and arrive at an answer too. Contry Curtains, catalog and website could probably give you an overview as well PS. yep, I just "Googled width" curtain and came with http://www.alternative-windows.com/measu ... try it!

For the curtain to look beautiful the width should be much wider than the window and of course you can use the material twice in one piece on each side of the window.

I always heard that they should be 1.5 times the width of the window.
