HGTV has a great section called rate my space where people everyday like you and me upload pictures of their rooms and people can vote. The best thing about this is that when you register, you can ask questions like the color of the paint was used or whether a certain item was purchased. They have soo many rooms in all dimensions, color, style and range in price imaginable. Im sure you can be inspired ago

The best way to inspire design your new space is to look at you.
Look in your closet and see what colors you most often buy. This is your color palette.
So ... go to a fabric store and walk around touch and look at the different types of tissue. This will give you an idea of what kind of textures, fabrics and colors you like.
So ... go to a furniture store and look at the kind of things they have to offer. If you do not find the things you love .... consider hiring someone to do window treatments and decorative pillows in fabrics you really like. Dressmakers (or friends who sew), will be able to realize these projects simple and you really should not charge much to do. (These are relatively simple sewing projects.)
Also ..... buy magazines, visiting friends houses, go to the traditional / modern art museums, furniture stores ..... build an album of ideas that you like .... take pictures and compile them in your book. Also, watch HGTV and other footwear to improve habitat for quick tips and ideas. Browse Craigslist.com and other sites such as your local Freecycle group in Yahoo groups section that give or sell used furniture. This way, you discover what you want .... and what you want.
Do you harvest the gold and green decor of the Avacado seventy .... blehh not me ... but I like marble countertops and leather furniture with contemporary accessories and clean lines.
Go to the paint store and get strips of paint chips, put them in your scrap book of reference as you weigh your options.
Most of all ....... have fun with it.
