Laundry Valet

Posted on May 11, 2010.
Laundry ValetWhat is the difference of a laundry service and valet parking at the hotel?

I learn English and the meaning of laundry and valet in dictionaries are the same and they confused me

Laundry service will clean and press your clothes for you.

Valet generally refers to people who park your car for you when you come and fetch it when you're ready to drive elsewhere.

Laundy is for shirts and underwear. Valet parking is for shoes and suits.

They can be used in the same context, however, most people use them separately.

Valet parking is a person who is employed for cleaning and pressing, laundering, and related services to customers in a hotel, passengers of a ship, etc. or an attendant who parks cars for the customers a hotel, restaurant, etc.

Laundry service is in reference to pay someone to care for specific washing, drying and folding or hanging clothes.
