Kitchen Window Treatments

I just painted my walls in the kitchen of a clay color Apache (this is essentially a color between purple and deep milk chocolate - a sort of purple-brown color). I have dark oak cabinets and white appliances. I think I'll make my own roman shades, so I need ideas on what color fabric to look for. Thank you:)

It seems that the kitchen is a bit dark and needs to be brightened. I would use a white material with a pattern tiny flowers possibly match the color on the wall. This tie in the white appliances and the darkroom and painting. If you could find this material, you can also use it to make towels, placemats, bags into baskets or chair pads, something to accent and brighten the room even more.
