Rod pockets are less fashionable. They will still be in the style of "ten years from now (if that makes a difference)

Personally, I prefer the curtain rod pocket for cooking. I really like the curtains of my neighbor (I know I know, you shall not covet your neighbor's property), but they are yellow with squares and they congregate around the middle of the window. And Germany has suspended decorations in the fall in the middle of the window. He seems a little odd on paper, but it's really pretty.

For the kitchen, a rod. I like the tops of the faucet for a den or bedroom of a boy (although I have red in my room and I'm not a boy!)
