How long does a clothing store David bags a wedding dress? Recently, I bought my wedding dress for my wedding to be held in May 2011. (Yes, I know it well ahead of time, but the dress was discontinued and that I wanted). David's Bridal gave me a garment bag to store my dress in. I was wondering how long my Dress would remain fresh in the bag.
Hey, I just wanted to add that yes, the bag to preserve your dress so far incredible ... But .. Be careful, because these bags are so cheap! Mine ripped if I proposed as a thumb! I had a dress a bit effeminate, it may be different from yours, but I just want you to know that they will replace your bag if you have received. I had to replace my bag after four because it was so cheap and kept ripping! :) But my dress was beautiful! I loved it!
so congratulations on getting your dress and hope the day is beautiful! :)
Hmmm not sure ... My suggestion would be to have it steamed, one week before you get all the wrinkles and refresh a bit! Good luck and congratulations!
My dress of David was in the bag in the back of a closet, because I'm married 10 years ago! It is still fine and fresh air. Just leaving it there.
It will be perfect in the bag, I heard that it can wrap a white cloth around the dress inside the bag. It apparently helps to ensure that it does not yellow.
I was a flower girl in kindergarten, and I put my wedding dress from David. I had my dress there for years, we are talking at least 9 years. It is still fresh! 8D Good luck! Having a good marriage!
Your dress should be ok ... but if I were you I get a box that you can use after the wedding too .... you can get steam cleaned before the wedding is!
You do not really need to keep it "fresh" unless it is made of perishable materials ... a bag of clothes held up well in 2011.
My advice is to put it in the back of a dark closet and not often used (in the garment bag) so it is not exposed to something (sunlight, dust, humidity, etc.) that could damage or wear. Then the week of marriage-like in a dry cleaning and do it professionally steam-cleaned and stems so that all wrinkles and "storage" smell is eliminated.
In addition, as tempting as it may be, do not leave the watch or show to people. You should really forget it's there.
My mom used to own a bridal shop and she had more than one wife he just bawling week of her marriage! Many brides who have bought their dresses first, and kept in their house would be out there to show someone who has visited ... the dress would end dirty (makeup, sweat, etc.) and sometimes with a broken zipper or small tears to be out and tried so many times!
Then they would need repairs and last minute rush to have the whole thing dry cleaned (which is not cheap at $ 105 + for wedding dresses) You do not want to deal with that the week of your wedding!
Congratulations from the beginning ... but now, simply storing and forgetting that you do!
Best wishes!
Did they give you the kind of plastic cover or bag a bag of real clothes? I have mine in two even if that would be fine without the plastic. I did the thing blank another poster suggested (just wrapped a white cloth around the dress to keep it away from the plastic). I bought mine two years ahead of time as well, and now it is looking very good (I had over a year to date). The only thing to be careful about is if it is a heavy dress, you do not want to hang forever if the equipment is not available to all. Also, I keep my zipper on the bag open a bit so the dress does not begin to plasticy smell the bag. Congratulations
They will steam for you the week of, ACTU.
