Drapery Clip Rings

Sounds simple, eh? I bought some beautiful velvet curtains for our home theater entrance. I am planning on using curtain rings with clips, but I was expecting to have some type of plastic buckle at the back of the drapery, but no. There are two small son who goes to the length. Should I clip them? Seems pretty weak to me. Am I missing something?

The clips are placed right on the field.

yeah just push open the clip and apply them directly to the cloth. I did mine, I started at each end, then did the middle, then folded and measured where to put them all til it was done. They look nice
