Decorative Window Shutters

Posted on June 12, 2010.
Decorative Window ShuttersArts & Craft project for the old wooden shutters?

I took those old wooden window shutters, if they do not fit any of my windows, I still want to convert them for other decorative purposes.
Can anyone offer suggestions and techniques on how to transform these components?

I did the same thing and have done lots of things with me. I used two, putting a network between them and a window box under all on a blank wall on the side of my garage. I grow the vine in the window box which now have grown the network and it looks like a small decorative window. I used 2 strands cut in half to make a dome to the top of my shed. I also used two inside of my house on the side of a mirror for the dressing. I used a horizontally placed at an angle over a window mounted baulstrauds wrought iron as a kind of window valance to block the sun to come in. I cut 2 in half, tied the four pieces together and made a planter box. I hope that others also come up with some ideas that I cared a little more than take up space in my garage ...

you can use them to make a plant stand

if they are large enough so that you can attach a screen of their hinges

If they are smaller you can paint them and tie them together and hung upside down and hang your orders on them as earrings

You could put it on both ends to make a table or on an existing table with a piece of glass or plexiglass over it
