Chicago Blinds

Posted on June 21, 2010.
Chicago BlindsI moved into an apartment in Chicago and the owner said he did not give a stove, refrigerator, or blinds.?

Is this true? no screens, no stove or refrigerator ??????

It is a little weird, but he can do whatever he wants. Get your own and when you're away, take them with you. To surf to get it in writing that you are responsible for your own appliances and window treatments so you can take them with you when you leave one day.

This seems strange, it may do if he wishes, but if he does not always want to rent this apartment. Take a look if the contract says furnished If yes, then you should have those things, if not empty

Most apartments will at least provide a stove and blinds, but because they tell you immediately that they do not offer these, you can choose not to live there.

Otherwise, leave the checkbook. You'll be the proud owner of a stove and refrigerator. Once you blind screws on the wall, they become part of the property, and technically you can not take them with you when you move.

speaking as an owner, I would seek another place to rent. this guy looks like he will have trouble.

I do not see the blinds, I do give them, but I know many owners who do not. but fridge and stove ... if you need to buy equipment you might as well consider buying a house.

When I say he looks like trouble, I mean if something breaks, it does not seem to be willing to extend himself or his checkbook for repairs. I have heard of owners who are hoping you can not resolve the problem and you pay yourself dear. Usually they are those who think they can keep the security as a farewell gift.

Just keep looking, I'm sure you can do better

I agree with the person who said it seems that this seems to be the owner of trouble. Yes, he can do what he wants (including yourself to blame for the stove, blinds, etc.). However, it is really rare. Most homeowners take care of the stove LEA. This could be a sign of things to come. Of course, you can do what you want, but I consider looking elsewhere.

And if you are offering and purchase all these things yourself, make sure to save receipts to prove that you have purchased. And while writing on the lease and that you have these separate documents and that they will go with you when you move. Be sure to sign this document as well.
