Boat Trailer Wiring

Boat Trailer WiringTrailer hitch for ATV UP

I always tell my clients that towing a trailer for ATV is a serious matter. When towing a trailer, you have the responsibility to know what you do. Not only can you put your equipment at risk, but you and your family could be injured. Not to mention the innocent drivers on the road.

3 What you should do when the coupling TRAILER FOR YOUR ATV

1. Coupler

The first thing one usually returns to the trailer hitch and put on the ball. It's pretty simple. Sometimes the team does not go all the way down on the ball. It must be very aware of this possibility.

If this occurs unnoticed, the lock can be closed, and the trailer bike seems to be hooked onto the tow vehicle.

The ATV trailer can even be moved to this state, sometimes long distances. Then, when a fairly large bump is encountered, the trailer bouncing the ball.

In my 34 years of manufacturing and maintenance of trailers I've seen it happen many times. I even made myself twice.

I once towed a trailer 15 miles in and out of the highway and was within 4 blocks from my destination when I went on a set of rails and the trailer was released the ball.

Fortunately I had crossed chains under the tongue of the trailer bike. They kept the language from dragging on the floor and prevents damage

2. Crossing safety chains

The second stage follows in the setting of the bike trailer to a towing vehicle is the security chain. As I just mentioned that there should be two chains or cables.

When attached to the vehicle, they should be crossed under the tongue of the trailer.

Do not use chains or cables that are too long, just long enough to allow the filming, but not as long as the spire of the trailer would hit the ground if it comes off the ball.

One way to adjust the length of safety chains, if you do not use cables, is to twist the chain. This makes the chain shorter. Stop when the desired length, then attach the chain to the vehicle.

The second time I had a trailer separates from the ball I tow a trailer 27 'boat that belonged to one of my friends.
Fortunately, it happened when I was going slowly. Safety chains took the language and kept the trailer attached to the vehicle.

When I stopped, a motorist Nice helped me get the trailer back on the ball and the trailer had little scratched paint.

3. Wiring

The third step to the trailer hitch of a towing vehicle ATV is the wiring. The importance of having flashing lights, brake lights and work is evident. Thus, after connecting the cable and raise the capture of the road, make sure all lights are working properly.

If not, the first thing to do is clean the electrical pins on both the tow vehicle and trailer connectors. The pins connecting them to build an oxidation over time and can be an obstacle to a good electrical connection.

If this does not solve the problem, have someone check both the trailer and the ATV as soon as possible.

The coupling of a trailer is easy, but it is also serious. So be sure it is done correctly every time.
